Head of technical department

Responsibilities:

• Overall management of the technical division (3 people)
• Performance of official duties for the related group of vessels
• To control and to organize the safe technical maintenance of the assigned group of vessels in accordance with current international conventions and national regulations of the Russian Federation
• To control validity period of classification documents of the related group of vessels
• To maintain accurate technical inventory records of the fleet using specialized software
• To control the preparation of vessels for repairs, approval of overhaul work specifications for all types of repairs
• To control budget performance, preparation of cost plan and budgets
• To control technical serviceability of the fleet
• To plan and to organize vessel’s technical maintenance, to perform audits of technical maintenance, repairs etc.
• To control the delivery of spare parts, fuel and lube oil supplies in time. To inspect reasonableness of requisitions submitted by the vessels
• To control the efficiency and appropriate use of technical equipment, reducing its wear and tear and increasing the reliability, reducing fuel and lube oil’s consumption
• To provide the justifications to management for all requisitions for technical supplies and repairs of the fleet
• To investigate all cases of damage and failure of technical equipment, identification of the causes of their occurrence and drawing up proposals for their elimination
• To control and to analyze fleet fuel consumption, using a specialized fuel consumption monitoring program
• Requirements:
• Higher engineering education in the maritime sphere
• Experience in similar positions with tanker fleets
• Experience as a chief engineer or second engineer
• Knowledge of technical English language
• Knowledge of specialized maritime software
• Knowledge of maritime conventions, IACS classification society rules, RD for the Russian marine and river fleet
• Knowledge of modern software for technical inventory records
• Willingness to travel frequently within Russia and abroad
