Regional Finance Controller & Chief Accountant Russia & CIS

This role will be responsible for managing the accounting department and ensuring compliance with financial policies and regulations.

Responsibilities:

Controlling

• Oversee the accounting department, ensuring efficient and accurate financial operation;
• Coordinate reporting processes on a monthly and annual basis, adhering to financial policies;
• Design and implement control activities that address risk points in all finance related processes and communicate requirements to affiliate teams.
• Assign roles and responsibilities for internal controls within the affiliate and team of direct reports.
• Monitor and control finance processes, remediate deficiencies and assure that company assets are protected.
• Establish and maintain accounting policies and procedures in accordance with local and US GAAP.
• Develop and communicate performance targets (KPI’s) and strive to improve them.
• Review and approve ACR/PO in line with CFM 60, Guide2buy and Payment terms.
• Establish and maintain corporate debit card policies and approval limits in line with corporate procedures.
• Liaise with Treasury teams in dealings with banks, payment process and bank guarantees.Respond to the bank queries on various issues and payment related queries.
• Select, motivate, and develop assigned employees;
• Manage and lead employees within the accounting department;Provide training, development, and ongoing coaching to employees as needed.
• Support Finance Director in other ad-hoc matters.

Accounting

• Manages accuracy of AP/ AR records, invoicing/billing, ICBs, payroll entries, fixed asset records, financial reporting, general & entity accounting etc.
• Manage preparation and distribution of financial statements and reports, maintaining the highest quality, reliability and accuracy and assuring they are prepared in compliance with policies and directives, GAAP and other applicable regulations.
• Reviews (monthly) closing process, including reconciliations and analysis of Actuals.
• Ensure compliance with Russian accounting rules and regulations for record keeping;
• Participate in the preparation of internal accounts at month-end, following reporting rules and company policies;
• Safeguard accounting records and ensure their integrity;

Taxation

• Address tax inquiries and monitor tax compliance.
• Liaise with Tax COE, Consultancy Firm and Federal Tax Authority as required.
• Ensure relevant tax data is captured and appropriately reported.

Audit

• Manages the annual audit process;
• Prepare the Affiliate to Audit readiness any time to face Internal Finance and Compliance audits.
• Coordinate with E&Y and FSS to complete the US GAAP Audit and Local GAAP Audits annually.
• Lead the actions, controls, and trainings to remediate the Audit findings.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of work experience in similar role
• Minimum 2 years of people management experience
• Higer education with a degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field;
• Excellent leadership competencies and supervisory skills with experience managing a team (at least 5 employees);
• Proficient in using accounting programs commonly used in Russia & CIS (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) coupled with strong SAP knowledge;
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
• Superior communication skills: ability to summarize complex financial analyses in a clear & concise manner
• Ability to grasp and analyse complex detail whilst still seeing the bigger picture
• Team player and willingness to build relationships and get involved at all levels in the organization
• Understanding and experience of Internal Controls
• Capable of handling multiple priorities
• Proven experience in project management cross-functionally
• Strong analytical skills and independent judgment
• Fluent in English.
