Technical Drawing Specialist – Luxury RTW

Summary:

Our private label is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Technical Drawing Specialist to join our in-house team with a professional command of spoken and written English. This role involves creating precise technical flats and detailed drawings that translate the creative vision into production-ready documentation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of luxury garment construction, fabric behavior, and design specifications, coupled with expertise in relevant software and tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Flats Creation: Develop accurate, clean, and proportionally correct technical flats for womenswear and menswear collections, including outerwear, knitwear, soft garment, wovens, tailoring, denim, and accessories;
• Ensure all design elements, including trims, stitching, and garment details, are captured with precision and to scale;
• Produce detailed technical drawings for pattern makers and manufacturers, including measurements, stitching guidelines, and construction details;
• Work closely with the design and product development teams to ensure all specifications align with the creative vision;
• Partner with designers to interpret sketches and design briefs into comprehensive technical drawings;
• Liaise with pattern makers, sample makers, and production teams to clarify details and ensure feasibility of designs;
• Update immediately technical flats and drawings based on feedback from fittings and design reviews;
• Maintain a library of technical flats for ongoing collections and archival purposes;
• Use industry-standard software to create and manage technical flats and design documentation;
• Maintain organized files and ensure all technical drawings are up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders;

• Fluent in English, proficient in Italian would be a plus;
• Deep understanding of garment construction, sewing techniques, and luxury finishings;
• Familiarity with different fabric types, draping behaviors, and their impact on design execution;
• Strong grasp of proportion, scale, and garment fit;
• Prior experience working with luxury brands;
• Knowledge of sustainability practices in garment construction and design;
• Experience in creating specification packs for international manufacturers;
